"The best thing for being sad," replied Merlin, beginning to puff and blow, "is to learn something. That's the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then — to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting.”

*Thanks, Gina, for posting this on your blog. I needed it today!
I love this song, Requiem Aeternam by John Rutter. The change at 1:20 gives me chills, and my whole body just relaxes as I listen to the rest. I could listen to this song over and over. It is so hopeful and peaceful! (The music is anyway. It's possible the words are sad, but I've never looked up the translation.)

Thanks for sharing the beautiful music!
I've never actually read the Sword in the Stone, and after reading that quote, I think I'll need to check it out from the library!
WOW. Listened to the whole thing; just breathtaking! WOW. Wow. Wow! Thanks, Megs!
I LOVE this song! I sang this in my high school choir. Yes, the words I think are sad for like a funeral or something like that, but the music itself is so beautiful!!! Loved it!
