Paraphrased quotes that have been rolling around in my head for the last two months (because I can't find the actual quotes):
"How do you know you've made the right choice?" "You don't. You'll always be wondering if you made the right decision, and wishing you'd gone the other way. The point is, you make a choice and stick with it." - Jack on 30 Rock
"All you can do is make the best choice you can, with the information you have, within the deadline you've been given. You may learn something else later that may have changed your decision, but that doesn't mean you didn't make the right choice when the choice had to be made." - Jean-Luc Picard in a Star Trek: The Next Generation novel
I've made some apparently controversial choices lately, struggling between two really good options in several different aspects of my life. All of them were heart-wrenching and caused no small amount of stress. It's been interesting sharing the struggle with concerned parties, and having people question my logic. Even I was surprised at some of my conclusions and one eventual outcome. (I apologize for deliberately being vague.)
And now that I've made my choices, I'm pretty happy with them. I like where my life is going. I no longer have time or energy to expend on them. Instead of dwelling on the past and potential regrets, I'll just have to deal with the consequences and fun surprises. Isn't that what life is about?
Here's a reminder to enter the 555th post celebration giveaway if you have not already! I'll be doing the drawing in two days. Good luck! (Only one entry per person, please.)

Ugh, don't you just hate making tough decisions? I know I do. Well, I'm so happy that you're glad about the choice you made and now it's done!
I'm proud of you for making tough decisions lately. As you know, I myself am darn bad at it. But just for the sake of argument, and because it's a quote you should be intimately familiar with by now, let us remember Cinderella's take on decision making:
"Then from out of the blue/ And without any guide,/ You know what your decision is,/ Which is not to decide."
Haha, I guess it works out alright for her (at least in the short term, until she discovers her husband is more charming than sincere.) Better to make and stick with the decision so you can own the outcome, I suppose.
